With 15 of our Form 4 students sitting their final exams in November 2023 and then leaving, their places created opportunities for some of the most deserving replacements to be selected to fill their places. This is both a very rewarding but also difficult task because so many of the students who attend St Cornelius Ramula Secondary School work so hard but against backgrounds of extreme hardship and financial difficulty.

With the help of Senior Teacher Calvince and the input of the relevant staff, combined with home visits it is very pleasing to announce the 10 new students that we can take into our sponsorship programme.

The first 5 include Aphline, Ray Kelly and James. Maurice and Rolex were on athletics duty when the photo was taken. With Kenyan food and fuel inflation sky-rocketing for any family to find the extra money for school fees is proving very difficult indeed. So the 3 smiles above are understandable but I think so too is the sense of relief.

The second 5 are Vivian, Vincent, Reynard, Sophy and Hilary.

Again the smiles say so much. Vivian and Vincent are in Form 1 - they have joined Ramula from sitting their demanding KCPExams successfully whereas the other 8 have all made good progress at Ramula in their previous one or two years.

If all goes well these 10 will be joined by 8 - 10 more in the next few weeks. We are looking for new suitable students who can match these students with ability and hard work but also are struggling with hardship in other aspects of their lives. New sponsors are always welcome - please leave a message on our contact page if you feel you can help.
