The 3 SSF sponsored Holo Secondary School Students

Holo Secondary is the school that Tom Bilo teaches at. It lies on the boundary of two regions and therefore has students from different cultural (tribal) backgrounds. In the past this has led to difficulties between different factions but recently the school has led the way in showing how all students can integrate in a happy working environment. A lot of credit must go to the Head and the teachers for setting the right example that their students can follow.

Consequently as Tom has drawn SSF's attention to students in dire need, our Charity has tried to respond. We currently sponsor three students who would have had to drop out had we not been able to help with fees. The last 2 have sadly lost their fathers due to Covid.

Helen (Form 3) Effie (Form 3) and Hazel Purity(Form 4). At the end of their previous school year, SSF donated a quantity of writing paper which is vital for the school's budget. Some will be used by the 3 girls but the majority by other students.

Effie

SSF started sponsoring Effie towards the end of her Form 1. I believe that Effie's grandmother is now trying to look after Effie and get her through Secondary school. In one of her last set of exams she finished in the top 5.

Helen

As Helen's father would have been main if not only wage earner. His untimely death due to Covid would have finished Helen's chances of completing secondary school. Fortunately due to kind sponsors this is no longer the case.

Hazel Purity

Hazel is in her final year and has now lost both her parents. She is the youngest of 5 siblings. In Hazel's case she has also been quite ill and had to vist Nairobi for treatment. She is now back at school and continuing to succeed at a very difficult curriculum in the build up to her final important KCSE exams. A very daunting challenge but not one she will shirk.
