Jake's visit to see all our students - Holo Secondary School

Jake is SSF's youngest trustee and not surprisingly our most energetic. Consequently he couldn't wait to make his way back to his 'second home' in Kenya to meet up again with Pam Galley in Nairobi and Tom Bilo and his family in Miriu. Covid, lockdowns and travel restrictions had curtailed our recent visits but at the first opportunity Jake was determined to meet all our students by visiting all 3 of our schools.

One of his first visits was to catch up with Helen and Effie at Holo School. Both are in Form 4 and they will do their final exams in early December. Holo is Tom Bilo's teaching school. Both girls' families were sadly affected by Covid and as a result we found places on our sponsorship scheme so that they could complete their secondary schooling and their vitally important KCSE exams.

All of our former students have passed their final exams and this has opened the way for many obtaining places on higher education courses with good job prospects at the end of their studies. These 2 students are likely to do the same and then become the 'bread winners' in their own families.
